A collaborative industry project between Novita Healthcare India & MasterPlast India in development of a refillable portable Nutraceutical dispenser.

The Aim is to ideate and develop new innovative designs for a nutraceutical pill dispenser with a 30 tablet capacity. Starting from research targeted towards existing pill dispensers available globally, deducing that research into a hierarchy of key pointers that include size, multi functionality, dispensing mechanisms, CMF, manufacturability and durability. The design should prioritise a unique dispensing mechanism of the nutraceutical tablet providing ease of use; and a heightened experiential interaction. Also designing around global healthcare noms for Pharma products to ensure integrity of stored product; key pointers include light exposure, dust/moisture resistance and cleanability.

Research Phase 01 has been completed. Phase 02 has been completed and extended to explore button based dispensing mechanisms. ID 03 has been selected for high fidelity prototyping using SLA/SLS printing.

60 tablet capacity, Y axis dimension of storage compartment is variable to tablet capacity. 06 components; 05 injection moulded parts + 01 torsion spring. Rotation of 85 degrees clockwise for bottom component housing (x2) isolates and dispenses one pill at a time, rotation retracts back to original position using a torsion spring. ID given for SLA & SLS printing for testing. All parts are design for efficient assembly and manufacturing using two part moulds.
